RDA Consoles

In my introduction to the film world the first project I was lucky enough to work on was at Weta Workshop on the film Avatar: The Way of Water. Avatar was an enormous project, and the team there had been working on the film in various capacities for almost 6 years before it released.

Our team designed and manufacture all of the RDA consoles for the spaceships which anchored many scenes in the film. We worked closely with production designer Ben Procter and supervising art director Luke Freeborn on manufacturing many of these large live-action set pieces for the world of Avatar, some with integrated lighting effects and interactive elements.

In total we made 7 different designs in 21 different configuration, for a total of over 2100 individual parts
