Studio Roosegaarde
In 2016 I had the opportunity to work with the legendary Daan Roosegaarde at his studio in Rotterdam while I was living in the Netherlands. During that time I worked on a number of exciting projects as a designer and prototyper, for new projects, as well as working with the Smog Free Tower shipping it for its debut in Shanghai, China and making the Smog Free Jewelry from pollutants collected from the atmosphere in Rotterdam
Smog Free Tower
Smog Free Tower is the world’s first smog vacuum cleaner. Standing 7 meters tall, it uses patented positive ionization technology to clean 30,000 m³ of air per hour, providing clean air in public spaces. Powered by green electricity, its effectiveness is validated by Eindhoven University of Technology.
Roosegaarde also designed the Smog Free Ring made from compressed smog particles, as a tangible souvenir. Each ring represents 1,000 m³ of clean air donated to the city.

BEYOND - Amsterdam Schiphol
BEYOND is a permanent 112-meter-long installation at Schiphol Airport, featuring a 3D wall composed of lenses, 160 billion pixels, and LED technology. This monumental artwork offers an immersive visual experience inspired by the 17th-century Dutch Masters' exploration of light and sky.
As the world's largest lenticular print, BEYOND employs advanced printing techniques to create a striking 3D effect, achieving a sense of depth and expansiveness far beyond its actual thickness. The integration of 160 billion pixels and dynamic LED lighting enhances the visual complexity, allowing the artwork to shift and evolve as travelers move through Departure Hall 3.

Glowing Nature shows the beauty of nature through a unique encounter between biology and technology. Following an intensive period of research and design Roosegaarde created the perfect conditions for visitors to experience the most light-emitting algae in the world. As visitors walk around the installation, their footsteps wake up the algae, whose bioluminescence creates a mesmerising, ever-changing environment.

Windvogel
Windvogel are smart kites connected by a cable to a ground station, allowing them to move freely in the wind. The push and pull of the cable transform this movement into electricity, much like a bicycle dynamo, and can supply energy for up to 200 households.
Whilst flying, Windvogel creates a visual symphony of dancing lines using a tensile braid of fiberoptics and powerful green lasers as a celebrate the beauty and poetry of green energy.
